Date: 09/10/2024
Type: Implementation of IRA

On September 10, 2024, DOE announced $11.6 million in funding awarded to six projects related to planning, siting, and permitting large-scale renewable energy facilities. The funding is provided through DOE’s Renewable Energy Siting Through Technical Engagement and Planning (R-STEP) program. R-STEP supports state- and Tribal-based collaboratives of stakeholders and technical experts to facilitate the renewable energy siting process. This is the second round of R-STEP awards funded by IRA section 50172, which provides general funding to the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy for activities for infrastructure and general plant projects.
