On May 22, 2023 the DOE, announced an investment of $150 million to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) that will fund NREL maintenance, renovation, and modernization. $93 million will be used to modernize research infrastructure and $57 million will be used for laboratory renovations and maintenance to improve the facilities for NREL researchers. Most funds will be used for NREL’s Golden, CO campus, but some funds will also go towards NREL’s Arvada, CO campus to expand electrical and water line capacity.
