Type: Implementation of IRA
On December 12, 2022, the DOE’s Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations released a Notice of Intent to support the advancement of transformational technologies in support of U.S. decarbonization efforts. The program, entitled the Industrial Demonstrations Program, will provide up to $6.3 billion for projects that will introduce decarbonization technologies for high-emitting industries, such as, but not limited to, iron, cement, food and beverage, forest products, and aluminum. The funding was raised through appropriations from section 41008 of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, 42 U.S.C. § 17113(e), and section 50161 of the IRA.
