On February 27, 2023, DOI’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) published a notice of final sale for oil and gas Lease Sale 259 for the Gulf of Mexico’s outer continental shelf. IRA section 50264 required that BOEM hold Lease Sale 259, along with two other oil and gas lease sales.
