Date: 12/14/2022
Type: Implementation of IRA

On December 14, 2022, the Department of Transportation (“DOT”) held a public meeting on its implementation of the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Grant Program and the Low-Emissions Aviation Technologies Grant Program established in section 40007 of the IRA. Section 40007 appropriates $297 million to the DOT for the purpose of funding competitive grants for projects located in the U.S. that produce, transport, blend, or store sustainable aviation fuel, or develop, demonstrate, or apply low-emission aviation technologies.

At the meeting on December 14, DOT provided key information on the programs’ eligibility, cost share, and technical requirements, and invited attendees to share comments on how best to implement the programs.
