On November 10, 2022, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a Request for Information on issues relating to implementation of the Climate Pollution Reduction Grants program established in section 60114 of the IRA. That section appropriated $5 billion to EPA to provide financial and technical assistance to states, air pollution control agencies, tribes and local governments to develop and implement climate pollution reduction strategies.
In the Request for Information issued on November 10, EPA posed a series of questions related to program implementation, including regarding the types of actions that may be supported through the program, how the needs to under-served communities can be integrated into the design of the program, and what metrics should can be used to measure program success and ensure accountability.
EPA will accept comments through January 18, 2023.
