Type: Implementation of IRA
On December 30, 2022, the Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (“BOEM”) conducted Lease Sale 258 in Cook Inlet, Alaska, which was required under section 50264 of the IRA. One bid, in the amount of $63,983, was received from Hilcorp Alaska LLC. BOEM has 90 days after the lease sale to evaluate the bid received to ensure that it reflects fair market value. That review will be completed by March 30, 2023. Concurrently with BOEM’s evaluation, the Department of Justice will conduct a review of antitrust considerations.
