Type: Implementation of IRA
On September 7, 2023, NOAA announced $14 million in IRA section 40001 funding for 10 projects that will research marine CO2 removal strategies and $10 million in other NOAA appropriations led by NOAA’s Ocean Acidification Program to fund 7 additional CO2 removal research projects. Projects include lab-scale demonstrations, modeling, community engagement, and field trials to study different marine CO2 removal strategies.
