Type: Implementation of IRA
On October 18, 2023, NOAA announced that it will award $6.7 million in funding to support 18 coastal resilience research projects nationwide. IRA section 40001 funds 5 of the 8 new projects that are part of NCCOS’s Effects of Sea Level Rise Program. The projects aim to aid in evaluating the use of nature-based solutions in mitigation of coastal vulnerability, ensuring that adaptation planning and coastal management decisions properly account for the effects of sea level rise and climate change.
