On August 17, 2023, NOAA announced $7.5 million in recommended IRA section 40001 funding and $34.4 in recommended BIL funding for 16 West Coast and Alaska state and tribal salmon recovery programs under the Pacific Coastal Salmon Recovery Fund. The funding is aimed to support the recovery, conservation and resilience of Pacific salmon and steelhead in Alaska, California, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
