Type: Implementation of IRA
On January 1, 2023, the Department of the Treasury (Treasury) announced the applicable reference standard for the Internal Revenue Code section 179D energy efficient commercial building property deduction. For construction beginning after December 31, 2022 and placed in service after December 31, 2026, ASHRAE 90.1-2019 is the applicable standard. For property constructed before December 31, 2022 or property placed in service before December 31, 2026, the previous reference standard, 90.1-2007, remains in effect.
