Arizona Pauses Energy Rebate Program After DOE Funding Pause

Date: 03/03/2025
Type: Rollback of IRA

On March 3, 2025, Arizona paused the state’s $153 million home energy rebate program due to the Trump administration’s funding freeze delaying IRA disbursements. Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs criticized Trump for cutting off funding to homeowners and contractors.

Arizona’s home energy rebate program (known as Efficiency Arizona) is funded by IRA sections 50121 and 50122. Both sections appropriate $4.3 billion each to DOE for it to establish home energy rebate programs. Funds are available until September 20, 2031.
