Type: Implementation of IRA
On July 24th, 2024, the Department of Energy announced that it was investing $371 million to accelerate the permitting of high voltage transmission projects across 16 states. This funding was made available through IRA section 50152, which provided funding for the Transmission Siting and Economic Development Grants Program. This investment will provide resources for communities to complete reviews of transmission projects and supporting workforce development.
