DOE Announces Launch of IRA-Funded Federal Home Energy Rebates Program in Georgia

Date: 11/13/2024
Type: Implementation of IRA

On November 13, 2024, DOE announced Georgia’s federal Home Energy Rebates program, funded by IRA sections 50121 and 50122 to provide consumer rebates. Georgia has launched both components of the program, the Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) and the Home Efficiency Rebates (HER). HEAR helps low- and middle-income households save on energy efficiency improvements, including heat pumps, electrical panels, and insulation. HER helps low- and middle-income households with retrofits to reduce household energy use. DOE requires that at least half of the Home Energy Rebate program rebates go to low-income households.
