On September 3, 2024, DOE announced the launch of New Mexico’s federal Home Energy Rebates program, funded by IRA sections 50121 and 50122. New Mexico is the third state to launch the Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) portion of the rebate program, on the heels of Arizona’s launch in the week prior. HEAR helps low and middle-income households save on energy efficiency improvements, including heat pumps, electrical panels, and insulation. DOE requires that at least half of the Home Energy Rebate program rebates go to low-income households.
