DOE Announces New and Updated Resources for the Home Energy Rebate Programs

Date: 09/10/2024
Type: Implementation of IRA

On September 10, 2024, DOE announced two changes to resources to support implementation of IRA-funded Home Energy Rebates programs. First, DOE has updated the sample Home Efficiency Rebates funding application. The purpose of these changes is to make the application process simpler and quicker for states and territories. Second, DOE released a new resource for Tribes to assist in developing Consumer Protection Plans for Home Electrification and Appliances Rebates.

The Home Efficiency Rebates are authorized and funded by IRA section 50121. The Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates are authorized and funded by IRA section 50122. Both of these programs provide rebates to consumers.
