Type: Implementation of IRA
On March 14, 2024, DOI announced $120 million to help Tribal communities prepare for and respond to climate-related threats to their homelands. The funding comes from IRA section 80001, the Bipartisan Infrastructure law, and annual appropriations through the Tribal Climate Resilience Annual Awards Program. Projects will include climate adaptation planning, community-led relocation, managed and partial relocation, protect-in-place efforts, ocean and coastal management, and habitat restoration and adaptation.
