DOI Announces $3.5 Million in Funding for San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area

On October 9, 2024, DOI announced that the Bureau of Land Management has received IRA funding for the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area (SPRNCA). The funding consists of a $2.7 million award for fence repair and an $850,000 award for water conservation. This work will be carried out in three phases. The funding also includes approximately $550,000 for surface and groundwater modeling in the City of Sierra Vista and $300,000 for federal aquifer, channel, spring, stream, and well monitoring pursuant to an SPRNCA Memorandum of Understanding.

IRA sections 50221 and 50222 designate funding for projects on national park and BLM-managed land.
