DOI Announces $37 Million in Funding for Drought Resilience in Oregon

Date: 12/20/2024
Type: Implementation of IRA

On December 20, 2024, DOI announced that it has awarded $37.4 million to three projects in the Ochoco and Tumalo irrigation districts in Oregon to support drought resiliency activities. The funding is “expected to conserve almost 5,000 acre-feet of water annually” in the two districts by “enclosing open canals into pipelines, reducing water losses to evaporation and seepage, and creating more efficient water transportation.”

IRA section 50233 appropriated funds to DOI to fund drought mitigation activities.
