On November 22, 2024, DOI’s Bureau of Land Management (BLM) posted a $200,000 funding opportunity in Alaska through BLM’s Alaska Wildlife Program. The funding will be used to support a range of activities including to “protect wildlife habitat, migration, habitat connectivity that supports biodiversity; increase resilience to climate change and help leverage natural climate solutions;” and more. Individual awards will be between $5,000 and $150,000. Applications will be reviewed in three rounds with the following deadlines: January 22, 2025 (round 1), February 22, 2025 (round 2), and March 17, 2025 (round 3). The awards will be made with BLM’s fiscal year 2025 funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and Inflation Reduction Act. IRA sections 50121 and 50122 appropriated funds for DOI to support conservation, resilience, and ecosystem restoration projects.
