DOI Announces California Endangered Species Funding Opportunity with February 28, 2025 Deadline

On December 2, 2024, DOI announced a $1 million grant opportunity through the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to support work on threatened and endangered species in California. The grant will fund activities to “protect biodiversity; slow species extinction rates; increase resilience to climate change and help leverage natural climate solutions” and more. Individual awards will be between $40,000 and $250,000. Applications are due by February 28, 2025 at 5pm EST.

The grants are funded by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and IRA sections 50221 and 50222, which appropriated funding to DOI to support conservation, restoration, and resilience activities on public lands managed by the BLM.
