Type: Implementation of IRA
On February 7, 2024, DOI announced $18 million in IRA funds to support sourcing native seeds and landscape resilience and the launch of the National Seed Strategy Keystone Initiative. To address the impacts of climate change on native plants, the initiative will expand Tribal greenhouse facilities, assist local farmers in transitioning from high-water crops to low-water native plant crops, connect underserved communities in native seed collection, and increase regional seed production capacity.
