DOI Announces Nearly $150 Million to Aid Communities with Water Reliability Challenges

On May 6, 2024, DOI announced $147.6 million in funding from the Inflation Reduction Act, Bipartisan Infrastructure Act, and annual appropriations to support 42 projects in 10 states with preparation and response to water reliability challenges due to drought and other water scarcity concerns. The announcement was made during a visit with the Southern Ute Tribe in southwestern Colorado, which is being awarded a $2.3 million grant to upgrade their water system.
