DOI Announces Nearly $7 Million for Indian Youth Service Corps Projects

On August 7, 2024, the Department of the Interior announced nearly $7 million to the Indian Youth Services Corps (IYSC) for Indigenous-led conservation projects across the nation. The funding is made available through IRA section 80001, which funds Tribal climate resilience and adaptation programs. This investment will fund projects to develop Tribal capacity in conservation, natural resource management, and climate resilience. It will also train a new generation of skilled Indigenous workers.
