On December 4, 2024, DOI’s Bureau of Land Management (BLM) posted a $1,000,000 funding opportunity in Oregon/Washington through BLM’s Oregon/Washington Invasive and Noxious Plant Management Programs. The program seeks to “prevent, detect, inventory, control, and monitor weed populations on public lands,” which threaten native plant communities. Individual awards will be between $10,000 and $500,000. Applications will be reviewed in three rounds with the following deadlines: February 2, 2025 (round 1) and March 5, 2025 (round 2). Additional application information can be found here.
The awards will be made with BLM’s fiscal year 2025 funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and Inflation Reduction Act. IRA sections 50121 and 50122 appropriated funds for DOI to support conservation and ecosystem restoration projects.
