DOI Announces Recreation and Visitor Services Funding Opportunity in Oregon & Washington with March 10, 2025 Deadline

On December 4, 2024, DOI’s Bureau of Land Management (BLM) posted a $800,000 funding opportunity in Oregon/Washington for recreation and visitor services projects. The funding will be used to support a range of activities, with a focus “on projects that build healthy communities and economies, advance environmental justice, address the climate crisis, and provide safe and equitable access to outdoor recreation opportunities for all Americans.” Individual awards will be between $5,000 and $200,000. Applications will be reviewed in two rounds with the following deadlines: February 5, 2025 (round 1) and March 10, 2025 (round 2). Additional application information can be found here.

The awards will be made with BLM’s fiscal year 2025 funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and Inflation Reduction Act. IRA sections 50121 and 50122 appropriated funding for DOI to support conservation, resilience, and ecosystem restoration projects.
