On December 2, 2024, DOI announced a $150,000 funding opportunity for the Youth Conservation Corps in Oregon and Washington through a collaboration between Oregon/Washington’s Bureau of Land Management (BLM) office and the Qualified Youth and Conservation Corps. BLM’s youth program helps to train the “next generation of public lands stewards.” The funding will support a variety of projects, including habitat restoration and wildlife protection, development and implementation of natural and cultural resource stewardship plans, and more. Individual awards will range from $28,000 to $50,000. Applications are due by March 2, 2025 at 5pm EST.
The grants are funded by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and IRA sections 50221 and 50222, which appropriated funding to DOI to support conservation, restoration, and resilience activities on public lands managed by the BLM.
