On April 4, 2024, EPA announced the eight selected recipients for the $20 billion in grant awards within the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF). The GGRF, created by IRA section 60103, is a historic $27 billion investment to mobilize financing and private capital for GHG- and air pollution-reducing projects in various communities across the country. Three selections came from the $14 billion National Clean Investment Fund (Climate United Fund, Coalition for Green Capital, and Power Forward Communities) and five selections came from the $6 billion Clean Communities Investment Accelerator (Opportunity Finance Network, Inclusiv, Justice Climate Fund, Appalachian Community Capital, and Native CDFI Network). These eight applicants have supported thousands of individuals, businesses, and community organizations to access capital for climate and clean energy projects. These awards are intended to catalyze many more pollution reduction projects nationally for decades.
