Type: Implementation of IRA
On December 11, 2024, EPA announced 84 recipients of Community Change Grants Program (CCGP) grants totaling $1.3 billion. Centering on environmental justice communities, 32 grant recipients came from Target Investment Areas. CCGP grants are aimed towards “reducing and preventing air, water, and soil pollution,” “building resilient infrastructure to extreme weather events,” and “bolstering workforce development.” This round of awards brings the CCGP program’s total to $1.6 billion in awards to 105 recipients.
CCGP grants are funded by IRA section 60201, appropriating $3 billion in funds to EPA for “environmental and climate justice block grants.”
