EPA Announces the Award of $34 Million to Address Indoor Air Pollution in Schools

On August 22, 2024, EPA announced five selected recipients of $34 million in grant funding to address indoor air pollution in schools. The five recipients, the University of Utah, the American Lung Association, the New York State Department of Health and Health Research, Inc., the Go Green Initiative, and the U.S. Green Building Council’s Center for Green Schools, will implement initiatives to monitor and reduce greenhouse gas emissions and indoor air pollution at K-12 schools in low-income, disadvantaged, and Tribal communities. IRA section 60106 appropriates funds for monitoring and reducing air pollution at schools in low-income and disadvantaged communities.
