Date: 03/12/2024
Type: Implementation of IRA

On March 12, 2024, GSA announced $50 million in IRA funds for the use of low-embodied carbon materials and technologies that will reduce operational emissions at the Frank E. Moss U.S. Courthouse in Salt Lake City, Utah. This construction project is part of the Federal Buy Clean Initiative, and the courthouse is one of 100 buildings slotted for conversion to all-electric HVAC and water heating systems by GSA last June. These improvements will reduce annual energy use by 52% and whole-building material-related greenhouse gas emissions by 57%.
