Type: Implementation of IRA
On May 17, 2024, IRS announced an updated reference standard for the IRC section 179D Energy Efficient Commercial Buildings Deduction expanded by IRA section 13303. The notice affirms that the ASHRAE/IES Reference Standard 90.1-2022 will be the effective standard for the definition of energy efficient commercial building property placed in service after December 31, 2028 and for which construction did not begin by December 31, 2022.
