On October 4, 2024, NOAA published a notice that the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) will hold a 2-day public meeting on October 16-17, 2024 to discuss matters relevant to NMFS and the Regional Fishery Management Councils. Among the topic discussed at the meeting on October 16 will be an update on the status of NOAA’s IRA-funded Climate Ready Fisheries projects. The meeting will be in hybrid format, with in-person and virtual attendance options. Additional details about the meeting are available here.
A number of the Regional Fishery Management Councils receive funding from NOAA, appropriated in IRA section 40001. This funding is to support coastal communities in building climate resilience.
