On December 9, 2024, NOAA announced that it is awarding $1.95 million to four drought resilience projects led by tribal nations: the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe, the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, the Chippewa Cree Tribe of the Rocky Boy’s Reservation, and the Rosebud Sioux Tribe. The projects will include identifying drought impacts; improving drought monitoring, forecasting, and resilience; developing contingency plans; and more.
