On June 11, 2024, NOAA announced $60 million for its Climate-Ready Workforce initiative. The funding will advance a climate-ready workforce for coastal and Great Lake states, Tribes, and Territories through nine projects across the nation. $50 million will go toward the nine projects and $10 million will go toward technical assistance to support the grantees. NOAA’s National Sea Grant College Program, Climate Program Office, and Office for Coastal Management will use the funding to form sectoral partnerships that will develop and implement job training programs.
