On October 25, 2023, NOAA announced $20 million in IRA section 40001 funding for NOAA to work with the regional fishery management councils on climate resiliency. $3 million of the funds will be divided equally among the eight councils while $17 million will be awarded to councils who submit proposals for specific projects.
