NOAA Announces IRA Funds for Climate Resilience in Remote Alaska Communities

On February 21, 2024, NOAA announced $1 million to be distributed through the Alaska Fisheries Science Center Indigenous Engagement program. The IRA section 40001 funds will be used to advance efforts to promote climate resilience and food security in remote Alaska communities and to strengthen collaboration with Indigenous communities. Up to $500,000 will be available in fiscal year 2024, with remaining funding potentially available in future years for continuation of work. Applicants can submit materials until Friday, April 26, 2024. NOAA Fisheries will also be hosting public webinars to provide information on this funding opportunity.
