Type: Implementation of IRA
On September 4, 2024, NOAA announced awards to twelve government recipients totaling $101.5 million. These funds are to be used to expand equitable service delivery and modernize U.S. Integrated Observing System (IOOS) Regional Associations. The IOOS “supports ongoing data collection in U.S. ocean, coastal and Great Lakes waters and develops infrastructure and tools to make that data accessible.” Investment in the IOOS will help build climate resilience in coastal communities.
