Regional Grantmaker Seeks Applications in EPA’s Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Grantmaking Program

Date: 08/15/2024
Deadline: 04/30/2025
Type: Implementation of IRA

On August 15, 2024, the Green & Healthy Homes Initiative published a request for grant applications in EPA’s Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Grantmaking Program. Grants will support historically underserved communities disproportionately burdened by environmental hazards throughout the mid-Atlantic, including Delaware, DC, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Tribal Nations within the region. EPA selected the Green & Healthy Homes Initiative as a regional grantmaker through EPA’s Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Grantmaking (EJ TCGM) program and awarded $50 million for the initiative to redistribute as subgrants to smaller organizations in the area. Subgrants will be awarded to address a wide range of environmental issues. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis until November 30, 2024 (for two-year grants) or April 30, 2025 (for one-year grants). Additional information about eligibility and submission details can be found in Green & Healthy Homes Initiatives’ request for applications.

EJ TCGM is authorized by IRA section 60201. The purpose of the grant program is to enable small community organizations to access federal funding using a grantmaker to administer the program.
