USDA Announces $256 Million in Clean Energy Funding for Rural Communities

On November 14, 2024, USDA announced $256 million in loans and grants, mostly through the IRA-funded Rural Energy for America Program (REAP). The awards will fund over 1,100 clean energy projects across 40 states. The projects will “lower costs, expand access to clean energy and strengthen American farms and small businesses.”

REAP is funded by IRA section 22002 and supports projects to expand renewable energy and improve energy efficiency in rural communities.
