On October 22, 2024, USDA announced that the Natural Resources Conservation Service in Nevada is accepting applications for more than $16 million in funding through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) and the Agricultural Management Assistance Program (AMA). Some of the available $16 million will be awarded through “EQIP IRA,” the IRA-funded portion of EQIP. The program provides technical and financial assistance to farmers to implement conservation activities which have climate mitigation benefits. Applications must be submitted to the local field office by 4pm on November 22, 2024.
EQIP is partially funded by IRA section 21001, which appropriated money to support climate smart agricultural conservation investments.
