On May 3, 2024, USDA announced 28 host organizations for USDA’s Working Lands Climate Corps (WLCC). WLCC is funded by the IRA and is an American Climate Corps program that aims to provide technical training and career pathway opportunities to help young people deliver climate-smart agriculture solutions for farmers and ranchers. This first cohort will include over 100 young people who will serve with 28 state and local host organizations in 25 states. Applications are now open for WLCC positions at the selected host sites. IRA section 22007 includes $250 million to support and supplement agricultural research, education, and extension activities, including scholarships and programs providing internships and pathways to agricultural sector or federal employment.
