On April 23, 2024, USDA announced IRA funding for over 700 clean energy projects with $238 million for the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) and the Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentive Program (HBIIP). $194 million will support projects in 35 states and Puerto Rico through REAP, which will help agricultural producers and rural small business owners expand their use of clean energy sources and make energy efficiency improvements. $43 million will support business owners in 15 states through HBIP to increase the availability of domestic biofuels. USDA will continue accepting applications for funding to expand access to domestic biofuel until Sept. 30, 2024.
