Type: Implementation of IRA
On January 31, 2023, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service announced that it would begin accepting applications under the Wood Innovation Grant Program and the Community Wood Grant Program established via sections 23001 and 23002 of the IRA. The grants aim to support the expansion of wood products use and also strengthen emerging wood energy markets, supporting sustainable forest management, with particular focus in areas of high wildfire risk. The application deadline for both grant programs is on March 23, 2023 at 5:00 pm local time.
Applicants may submit their applications and additional required documents via email to the Forest Service Regional Wood Innovations coordinator, as provided in the application instructions.
