Type: Implementation of IRA
On December 5, 2024, USDA announced the launch of the Agriculture and Forestry Greenhouse Gas Inventory Data Viewer. The tool tracks greenhouse gas emissions and sinks, and includes agriculture-focused supplemental datasets on livestock population, manure management, and more. The data viewer is designed to be used by a variety of users including scientists, researchers, agricultural producers, environmental and agricultural organizations, and policymakers.
The Data Viewer is funded by IRA section 21002, which invested $300 million in “measuring, monitoring, reporting, and verification of conservation practices’ impact on emissions and carbon sequestration.”
