On October 28, 2022, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) published a notice, announcing that it would hold two virtual listening sessions on the IRA. The first session, to be held on November 3, 2022, will focus on sections 22001, 22002, and 22003 of the IRA. It is aimed at “rural communities, rural small businesses, and agricultural producers including renewable energy generation providers, distribution utilities, transportation fueling facilities, fuel distribution facilities, environmental, community and consumer groups, industry associations, and Federal, state, and local government and agencies.”
The second session, to be held on November 4, will discuss section 22004 of the IRA. It is aimed at rural electric cooperatives and other stakeholders.
At the same time as it announced the listening sessions, USDA also invited written comments and suggestions on its implementation of sections 22001-22005 of the IRA. Comments were due November 28, 2022.
