On June 30, 2025, USDA announced that it would pause applications for the first grant window of FY 2026’s REAP program “due to the overwhelming response and continued popularity of the program resulting in a backlog of applicants.” It expected to reopen applications on October 1, 2025, but the portal has yet to reopen.
IRA Section 22002(a) and (b) appropriated over $2 billion for USDA to award to agricultural producers and small businesses for energy efficiency and renewable energy deployment.
