On January 30, 2025, EPA paused distribution of legally-obligated Solar for All program grants, worth about $7 billion and meant to finance rooftop clean energy projects in low-income communities across the country. EPA’s online grant management portal (the Automated Standard Application for Payments) remains frozen despite the District Court for the District of Columbia temporarily blocking the Trump administration’s federal spending freeze. The EPA informed grant recipients via email.
Solar for All is financed by the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund, created by IRA section 60103.
