Type: Implementation of IRA
On November 6, 2023, GSA announced $2 billion in IRA funds for over 150 federal construction projects that use low-embodied carbon materials. IRA section 60503 appropriates funds to acquire and install low greenhouse gas emissions materials and products in GSA buildings. The federal building projects will prioritize the procurement of LEC materials, including $384 million for asphalt, $767 million for concrete, $464 million for glass, and $388 million for steel.
