On May 16, 2023, GSA announced it is using IRA funds to launch a six-month pilot program that will apply GSA interim IRA low embodied carbon material requirements into procurement for eleven construction projects. IRA section 60503 provides $2.15 billion for GSA acquisition and installation of construction materials and products with substantially lower levels of embodied greenhouse gas emissions as compared to estimated industry averages.
